Although Brazilian Slate can be laid traditionally with copper or Aluminium nails (32mm x 3.00/3.35mm), due to the more brittle nature of Brazilian slate we recommend Hook Fixing to eliminate unneeded wastage.
Please note that slate hooks cannot be used on roofs below 30°. Roofs lower than this but not exceeding minimum pitch for the slate must be nailed.
These slates must be cut with an angle grinder or an electric slate cutter as they are too hard to be cut by hand.
